This course will discuss modern topics in the physics of exotic nuclei, with a focus on theory but also including some experimental methods. The course is aimed at advanced MSc and PhD students, for both experimentalists and theorists. If you have any questions regarding this course, please email me.
Outline
- Nuclear forces: status and open problems
- Precision experiments and ab-initio theory for light nuclei
- Medium-mass nuclei: shell structure, towards and beyond the driplines, island of inversion, connections to nuclear forces
- Density functional theory across the nuclear chart and density matrix expansion
Requirements
