Course book

Quantum Field Theory by Peskin and Schroder

Topics

  • What is field theory; scalar theory
  • Path integrals and generating functionals
  • Interactions and Feynman diagrams
  • Spinors and Dirac equation
  • Scattering in QED
  • Loops and renormalization

Homeworks and Solutions

All homeworks will appear here as they are needed. Solutions will appear a few days after the homework is due or discussed. They have now been taken down, for the good of future students.

Lecture Plan

PLEASE NOTE that we will meet 3 times a week. The Tuesday and Friday meetings are lectures, while the Wednesday meeting will SOMETIMES be a lecture (especially near the beginning) and sometimes be a discussion and presentation of the homeworks. AND SOMETIMES I will be traveling and we will not meet! I will try to have enough 3-lecture weeks such that the total number of lectures is between 26 and 28, allowing us to cover all the material for the course.
